Adoptable Animals

Please note: HAL does not own or operate a shelter; we have a small network of foster homes where animals temporarily live until permanent homes are found. Because of this, we are not always able to accept animals from the public. HAL is always looking for foster homes throughout Somerset and Monmouth Counties. The more foster homes we have, the more lives we can save. Please contact us if you would like more information on becoming a HAL foster!

Application Process:

Your application will be reviewed by our Adoption Committee. If it is approved, a HAL volunteer will call you within a week. Arrangements for the adoption would be made at that time. If you do not receive a call within a week, the application was not approved. Please note that there are many reasons why an application may not be approved. Our adoptable animals are all safely living in a network of foster homes, which affords us the opportunity to carefully match up each animal with his or her new home.

Adoption Fee:

HAL’s adoption fee is $100.00 per animal. Adoption fees are donations to HAL; donations collected help offset costs for current fosters and enable HAL to continue with our rescue efforts. HAL’s adoption and foster programs are completely donation-supported.
