Homeless Animal Lifeline (HAL) is an all-volunteer, donation-supported non-profit 501(c)(3) humane education, animal rescue, and caregiver assistance organization located in New Jersey.
Since 2004, HAL has expanded its programs beyond homeless animal rescue. As part of our ongoing efforts to increase the circle of compassion to include all animals, we are proud to have created programs that not only focus on animal adoption, but also address other important animal-related issues. Many people care about making the world a better place for animals, but don't know where to start. Our intention is to help you recognize that YOU can easily make a difference and to give you ideas on how.
JOIN US AT OUR NEXT ADOPTION DAY! PETSMART IN BRIDGEWATER, NJ May 17, 2008 11:30 AM - 4:00 PM
During "kitten season," adult cats are often overlooked. We have many beautiful adult cats (1 year old and up) who would love to become a member of your family. Please give them a chance! |
Please note: HAL does not own or operate a shelter; we have a small network of foster homes where animals temporarily live until permanent homes are found. Because of this, we are not always able to accept animals from the public. Foster parents provide temporary care, safety and security for animals while they await adoption. Our foster volunteers are instrumental in preparing animals for adoption into permanent homes. Please contact us if you would like more information on becoming a HAL foster!

Liberty the day she was rescued. She was depressed, lethargic, infested with fleas, parasites, and had an upper respiratory infection. | This is Liberty now! She is a happy, healthy cat and has been adopted by HAL volunteers. |
Liberty was rescued, along with many other cats, from a home where they were neglected. The cats who HAL volunteers rescued required medication for easily treatable ailments, such as parasite and flea infestation and upper respiratory infection. All of these cats are on the road to recovery and ready to be adopted. Please contact us if you would like more information on adopting one (or two!) of these precious cats! All are young adults, spayed and neutered, and have tested negative for FIV and FeLV. As you can see from Liberty's before and after photos, these cats simply need a special person like you to give them the second chance they deserve!
Please note that, left untreated, parasites can cause substantial damage to a cat's health. Parasites can affect your cat in a variety of ways, ranging from a simple irritation to causing life-threatening illnesses. Fleas can cause health problems in cats such as anemia, allergies, skin infections, and tapeworms. Please make sure that your cats (and all companion animals) are flea and parasite free!
